30th annual Minnetonka Bass Classic

Today I fished in the 30th annual Minnetonka Bass Classic with a chance at winning up to $40,000 dollars $10,000 for first place and if you weigh in on or over 30.30 pounds for 8 fish they kick in $30,000. This is a team event and a number of the best bass fishermen in the state of MN show up for this tournament, there was a record 137 boats all shooting for the top prize and hear I thought I had a ringer for a partner Dave McCrone a very good friend of mine who fishes the FLW strens and the FLW tour until they stopped the locals from cherry picking tournaments he does really well on all the tournaments on Lake Erie. Dave and I both put a couple of days in of pre fishing through out the week but neither really did very well so we were just going to go fishing and hope for the best . The morning started out with us taking off as boat number 101 good thing we didn't have anything to rush to the weather was hot but there was pretty strong wind all day long I'm going to make this short. We SUCKED bad I bet we only caught five fish that would have measured and only one was respectable at 3+ lb's so as 48 other boats did we didn't even bother weighing in we loaded the boat and got out of there. Oh yeah I almost forgot the winning team was a team that seems like they either win or are at least in the top 3-4 every year but they did not get the bonus money they came up a little short with 27.33
